Miratorg increases feed production by 85%
Russian agricultural holding Miratorg, the largest pork and feed producer in Russia, has reported a growth of 85% in feed production for the first half of 2013.
"In the animal feed production segment the total amount on the balance sheet date showed an increase of 85% on year-to-year comparison - to almost 510,000 tonnes. It should be noted, that the estimated production capacity of four feed mills in Belgorod region is 1.46 million tonnes per year, and the total storage is 575,000 tonnes. In addition, the holding company has set a feed production target of 1.12 million tonnes for 2013, which will be sufficient to feed the 2.7 mln pigs and 9 mln poultry on the Miratorg complexes," the company’s report says.
In July this year, the company launched a new feed mill in the Belgorod region, with an annual production of 360,000 tonnes of feed, allowing the company to consolidate its leading position on the Russian feed market. However, experts note that Miratorg practically sells no animal feed - the vast majority of feed from its four feed mills goes to meet the needs of the company.
