VIV Asia to organise first pet food seminar

The Asian pet food market is booming, especially in Thailand. This is because pet owners have increased their spending habita on pet food and pet supplies considerably.

This is stated by Paula Flores from Euromonitor International. She will talk more in detail about the global and Asian pet food market and trends at the upcoming pet food event at VIV Asia.

“We see that pet owners are looking to extend their pet-related purchases beyond basic necessities, spurring demand for functional treats, and more extravagant pet products, such as salon-style pet toiletries and designer pet accessories as well as pet healthcare and supplements”, Flores explains.

Trends in pet food ingredients

Another key note presentation at the event will be given by Anton Beynen from Vobra Petfoods in the Netherlands. Beynen – also writer for AllAboutFeed – will reflect on the functional and natural trends that are reflecting the use of pet food ingredients.

“Inspired by pet owners’ attitudes, pet food marketing is dominated by the natural trend and the basic belief, health through foods free of artificial compounds, has been enlarged remarkably”, Beynen explains.
