Supplying
only proteins of plant origin to ruminants is an expensive and sometimes
inadequate alternative to animal sources. One French company has concentrated
five years' worth of research on getting the most out of plant
protein sources by a lower cost processing method which not only offers rumen
protection, but can also reduce some antinutritional factors.
