Risk perception EU vs USA: Convergence or divergence?
The profile of risk and risk-related issues
has risen markedly in the last 15 years. There is a growing recognition of the
importance of proper risk management and increasing interest in how this can
best be applied to governance. At the Food Safety Conference held in Washington DC, David
Byrne highlighted the differences in risk perception between the EU and the USA. Here, a
