European farmers can produce more milk

As from April 1st, dairy farmers in the EU are allowed to deliver 2% more milk. This has been decided Monday by the Agriculture Ministers of all 27 EU member countries. This temporally increase has been allowed due to high prices and high demand, especially from China.

The European Commission already proposed the 2%
increase in November last year, pressured mainly by the Dutch Agriculture
Minister Gerda Verburg. Germany and Austria were against the proposal, as they
think that the price hike is only a temporally thing.
