Godrej in India launches new cattle feed

31-03-2008 | |

Godrej Agrovet Limited (GAVL) in India has launched a new range of cattle feed supplements in Maharashtra. The company, which already has a presence in the animal feed industry has now introduced these products to help the dairy farmers to increase the milk output on daily basis, ensuring better health of the cattle and preventing diseases.

The introduction of these products is important considering international ban
on use of antibiotics as feed supplements. Probiotics and prebiotics are gaining
ground as safer and sustainable options as feed supplements.

All cattle
feed supplements launched by GAVL are without antibiotics and one of the
variants, G- Nutriyeast, contains probiotic, and nutrilites that aid in
digestion.

Speaking on the launch of these products, Balram Yadav, chief
excutive officer, Godrej Agrovet Ltd said, “Godrej Agrovet is the leading
company in the category of compound feeds and we have ensured that we offer the
best value proposition to our consumers. Through the launch of these products we
aim to support dairy farmers in increasing their yield and help maintain better
cattle health, which will certainly bring them significant profits in the long
run.”

All these feed supplements are being manufactured by Polchem
Hygiene Laboratories Pvt. Ltd, a JV company of GAVL, which is based in Pune. The
products will be available at all leading Indian stores in Pune, Nasik,
Aurangabad and the entire Western Maharashtra.
