Poultry Personality of the Year

Wiebe van der Sluis, Editor of World Poultry magazine, has been awarded "European Poultry Personality of the Year".

The ceremony was held at VIV Europe, which was held in Moscow, Russia, this week.

The award presentation was a joint event of VIV and Positive Action Publications. "Wiebe is a real communicator in the global poultry industry and everybody knows him as a friend," commented Nigel Horrox, presenter of the Award Ceremony (right on the picture).

While receiving the award, Wiebe was clearly touched by the recognition that he received. He will be retiring from August 1st, 2008, and will be succeeded by Adrian Bal.

Foundation of international group
Wiebe is Editor of World Poultry, a magazine that he started himself 25 years ago, and still runs with great enthusiasm. This magazine was the basis for the current International Agri- & Horticulture group at Reed Business. Since then several magazines in the poultry, pig, feed, meat, flowers and fruit and vegetable sectors have been successfully introduced to the market.
