Femas accreditation for Treatt in feed

09-01-2009 | |

Flavour and fragrance ingredient supplier, Treatt plc, has received certification from the Feed Material Assurance Scheme (Femas) to supply its essential oils and aromatic chemicals for animal feed.

The company can now provide ingredients to meet the needs of flavour houses
creating formulations for animal feed and animal feed
manufacturers.

Femas aims to identify any potentially hazardous
individual products used in animal feed to ensure the supply of safe feed
materials to farms and feed manufacturers.

The scheme is based on HACCP
principles and good operational practices. As a result of this accreditation,
the words “Femas assured” will now appear on Treatt’s delivery documents for all
Femas approved items sent to animal feed customers.

Commenting on the
accreditation, Hugo Bovill, managing director, Treatt plc, said: “This
certification demonstrates Treatt’s commitment to consistently providing the
highest quality ingredients which comply with the most stringent safety
standards.

“Customers in the animal feed industry can now confidently
include our innovative ingredients in their products.”

Treatt plc  is an
independent ingredients supplier to the flavour and fragrance industries. It
manufactures and supplies a vast inventory of innovative products, including
essential oils and their natural fractions, and aromatic
chemicals.
