EuroTier 2010 expects about 1,700 exhibitors

The German agricultural society (DLG) expects approximately 1,700 exhibitors from all over the world to show up at EuroTier, to be held in Hanover, Germany, 16-19 November 2010.

The animal production show, focusing on pigs, poultry, dairy & beef and aqua, is one of the larger in the world. At the moment, 1,100 companies have already confirmed their presence. About 150 new companies have signed up for the event.

In 2008, a total of 1,764 direct exhibitors were present in Hanover, attracting 130,000 visitors in four days. In total, 22,000 visitors came from abroad.

Swine industry
Many interest will come from the swine industry, EuroTier project manager Dr Karl Schlösser said. Companies with technical innovations from the beef industry will also be strongly present.

In comparison to earlier years, the confirmations show a growth in the themes animal feed, animal health, veterinary medicine.

The next World Poultry Show, within EuroTier, will take place in 2012 – hence the poultry presence may be somewhat restricted. For poultry producers, the majority of information will be related to more general themes, like animal feed, animal health and bio-energy.

Veterinarians
The German annual conference for practising veterinarians, called ‘Veterinary Medicine’ will also be held in Hanover, jointly with EuroTier.

An ‘International Animal Health Event’ will be organised by the DLG and the German organisation for practising veterinarians (BPT) for veterinarians from all over the world.

In addition, at EuroTier the show ‘BioEnergy Decentral’ can be found – with a focus on sustainable energy, with 300 exibitiors. A future forum, with modern innovative concepts, completes the exhibition.
