Alltech s latest weapon against mycotoxins

Alltech has developed a new mycotoxin binder, Mycosorb A+, which reduces mycotoxin absorption within the animal, thereby negating the damaging effects of mycotoxins on its health.

Launching on the heels of the 2012 harvest, one of the most difficult in living memory, this cutting-edge approach will augment the arsenal of producers around the world facing challenges from mycotoxins.

Nick Adams, global sales director for Alltech’s Mycotoxin Management team commented that “While in some parts of the world there was record rainfall, other parts were marred by drought. As most of the 2012 harvest will be used for feeding livestock in 2013, we expect greater production and health losses in the coming months.”

Historically, both the analytical and the commercial side of mycotoxin management has focused on identifying and addressing individual mycotoxins. In reality, forages and grains are naturally contaminated with multiple toxins. Effective mycotoxin management must reflect this.

Alltech’s 37+ analysis of the 2012 harvest has shown that 98% of samples tested globally were contaminated with mycotoxins and furthermore 93% were contaminated with multiple mycotoxins.

Understanding the nature of mycotoxins and their impact on the health and performance of animals at this level, was fundamental to the development of Mycosorb A+, a mycotoxin binder with improved binding efficacy against wider range of mycotoxins..

Product availability may vary by country, please contact your local Alltech representative for more information. Mycosorb A+ is not available in the US or Canada
