Application open for ‘Feed mill of the year’
For the 23rd consecutive year, the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA), along with Feed Management, will sponsor the Feed Mill of the Year. The program is designed to recognize overall excellence in feed manufacturing operations.
The program has been re-designed to incorporate a number of enhanced
benchmarking measures. Program categories have been updated and strengthened,
including a new focus on truck fleet operations where applicable. The
application process is more efficient and administration of the program has been
streamlined.
As part of the revisions, the applications now will be completed on line and information
captured on the AFIA server. The completed applications will be reviewed, scored
and site visits conducted based on company standings in the program. To be
eligible to enter the program, feed mills must be an AFIA member and be capable
of handling medicated feeds.
The age, size and degree of automation
should not be a contributing factor for entering the contest.
