New soybean processing plant for Cargill

01-06-2007 | |

Cargill Oil Seeds, a division of US based Cargill, made a start of the construction of a new $120 million soybean processing plant to replace an existing processing facility in Kansas City, Missouri.

The new facility, which is being designed to increase soybean processing
capacity to 165,000 bushels from 95,000 bushels per day, will be built adjacent
to the existing building.

According to company officials, the new
facility would significantly enhance operating efficiencies when it becomes
operational in the spring of 2008.

In addition, Cargill together with
Paseo Biofuels began construction of a $40 million biodiesel plant, which should be
operational by the end of 2007.
