Wenger Manufacturing wins Aquafeed Innovation Award 2012

The award recognizes the creativity and ingenuity of the supply sector in meeting the very specialized needs of the aquafeed manufacturing industry.

The award was presented by the publisher of Aquafeed.com, Suzi Dominy, in a ceremony during Victam Asia 2012.

“That aquaculture is the fastest growing livestock sector in the world – and that mostly in Asia – is largely thanks to the development of feeds for a vast and growing array of species”, Dominy said.

“We wanted to recognize the achievements of the supply sector in providing products that help grow and develop the aquaculture feed industry: we have a very worthy winner in Wenger Manufacturing”.

“Wenger’s new extrusion system, designed specifically for aquatic feed processing, is a real step forward. Our panel was impressed by the array of new features, and that it can increase production rates by three to five times for small diameter aquatic feeds – and for shrimp feeds in particular”.

Accepting the award on behalf of Wenger Manufacturing, Joe Kearns, Aquaculture Process Engineering Manager, said: “It was an honour to actually have an entry for the first ever Aquafeed Innovation Award and it is a greater honour to receive this award on behalf of Wenger Manufacturing.”
