Keenan claims that its Animal Nutrition System can have a positive impact on the environment in Ireland, with a potential reduction in methane emissions of 20% and a significant improvement in farm performance of up to 40% current net margins.
This is the equivalent of taking 425,000 cars – or 25% of Ireland's cars – off the road for a year.

Sustainable food production
Commenting at the official opening, Commissioner McCreevy said: "This innovation is about much more than an £5.6 million investment in technology, engineering and animal nutrition.
"The real vision here has been the investment in intellectual capital, including the Science Advisory Board, which has resulted in the development of a system that provides a platform for sustainable food production methods. "This has the potential to boost family farm incomes; to support Ireland's green, 'food island' image and to play a significant role in tackling global warming.''
