In 1956 Nelson and Sons started producting fish feed and is now famous for its Silver Cup aquafeed for fresh water aquaculture in the west of the US and has a substantial market share in trout in Idaho. The company is also activite in Canada and Mexico.
Annual production adds up to 30,000 tonnes and profitability is in line with the aquafeed business of Skretting.
Silver Cup serves different market niches than Skretting which means that Nutreco is expanding its activities in new markets for fish feed.
