Evialis buys majority of Malta Cleyton

// 26 mar 2008

French animal nutrition supplier Evialis will acquire 70% of Malta Cleyton, one of the leading animal feed and pet food manufacturers in the Mexican market.

The French company will acquire a 50% stake as soon as government approval is received and will buy another 20% within a year. US cooperative Growmark will retain 10% and the company's management will keep 20%.

Malta Cleyton sells around 600 tonnes of animal feed every year and has revenues of around €130 million. It employs 700 people and has ten sites in Mexico plus one in Brazil. The acquisition will almost double the international turnover of Evialis, bringing it to a third of its pro-forma sales for 2008.
