Nestle buys Australian pet food producer

// 29 nov 2006

Swiss-based food group Nestle has agreed to buy Australian pet food maker Green's Foods for A$95 million (€56.5 million), Nestle said on Wednesday.

The activities purchased include one plant in New South Wales and around 100 employees, a Nestle spokesman said. "It is clearly something that complements our strong presence in Australia," the spokesman said.

The transaction sill requires shareholder approval and is expected to be concluded in January.
