The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) awarded CAN$22 million (US$19.4m) for four major projects at the University of Saskatchewan to advance research into the health of agricultural workers and high-value feed products, metals in the brain, and toxins in water.

The $1.5 million feed mill from the National Centre for Livestock and the Environment’s (NCLE) located at the University of Manitoba’s Glenlea Research Station, was officially opened last summer.

EU Commissioner, Charlie McCreevy, officially opened the new £5.6 million Keenan Manufacturing Centre at the company's headquarters at Borris, County Carlow. The centre will conduct research in technology, engineering and animal nutrition.

Kiotechagil is conducting its first trials at Plumpton College in Sussex. The trials are being undertaken in conjunction with the College’s piggery, a modern teaching facility on the College’s 600 hectare farm, to assess improvement in the feed conversion ratio of pigs.
