There is an
alternative of natural origin, zeolites, that allows us to solve nutritional
and environmental problems confronting animal production today. Results
obtained in Cuba
for more than three decades are promising, but according to Dr Castro, have not
had enough exposure. These are now under commercial application to contribute
to the challenges of residues and pollution.
Chemical company BASF is selling its animal nutrition
premix business in eight countries to the Dutch animal feed group Nutreco. The
sales contract was signed on February 16, 2007, and is subject to approval by
the responsible authorities. No financial details were
disclosed.
At the XVIth European Symposium on Poultry

The Salins Group has launched a new mineral additive
to improve ruminant growth performance. The mineral block contains a mix of
plant extracts, supplied by the company Phytosynthèse.
Half the copper trace mineral added to pig, cattle and poultry diets in the
United States comes out of Micronutrients' Indianapolis plant. However,
