EC pushes Austria to use GM feed 30 Oct 2007
The European Commission (EC) wants to push Austria to start using GM corn
varieties for use in animal feed and food.
This can be concluded from the agenda from the
European Environmental Board, to be held today.
In a previous attempt, the European Commission tried to make Austria produce the genetically modified corn. This attempt was not succesfull in a sense that the commission accepted the Austrian ban on GM products. This time, the commission "only" asks for the sale and use of the products.
