The agency says no part of the animal entered the human food or animal feed
system and the new case should not affect exports of Canadian cattle or beef.
While officials have identified where the cow was born, the CFIA has not
released that information.
The agency says it is tracing other cattle in
the herd and is trying to determine how the cow became infected with the
disease. Since May 2003 there have been 14 cases of mad cow disease discovered
in Canada.
