More oilseed crops in Europe 17 Dec 2008
According to a forecast by Coceral, the European Union's (EU) total oilseeds
production in 2008 should rise to 26.68m tonnes, up from 23.53m tonnes in
2007.
The forecast is marginally higher than the previous crop forecast it made in
September.
The EU's rapeseed harvest is expected to rise to 18.99m
tonnes, from 17.73m tonnes in 2007, while sunflower output is predicted to
increase to 6.76m tonnes, compared to 4.9m tonnes last
year.
