In an extremely hot Bangkok feed manufacturing equipment show Victam Asia and its concurring shows Fiaap Asia for the feed ingredients industry and Grapas Asia for the flour milling industry kicked off on 15 February 2012 in a perfectly climatised BITEX exhibition centre. Yukol Limlamthong, Permanent Secretary of the Thai Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives opened the event.
The Thai Ag Secretary, together with the Victam Board, cut the ribbon for the official opening.
The show this year was held for the first time in Bitec Exhibition Centre, which allowed the organization to situate all exhibitors in one giant exhibition hall.
AllAboutFeed was present with a stand where interested visitors could subscribe to the magazines and newsletters, but also offered an Internet café for people to check email and other items to do business with. The café was constantly occupied.
Buhler presented its 2011 introduced Kubex pellet mill in nicely designed colours. Buhler said it is the Artist in Feed Pelleting. This pelletmill is painted with aqua impressions and …….
……here the Kubex mill is designed with a cow painting.
Each show had its own Innovation Award competition. AllAboutFeed sponsored the Animal Nutrition Innovation Award, which was won by Dr Eckel from Germany for its customized natural plant extracts AntaPhyt MO. Bernard Eckel (right) received the award from AllAboutFeed editor Dick Ziggers.
Aquafeed.com sponsored the Aquafeed Innovation Award which was won by Wenger Manufacturing for an improved type of extruder for shrimp feed. Joe Kearns was delighted to accept the award.
Roger Gilbert (left on photo) from Grain & Feed Milling Technology handed out the Victam Award for Milling to a representative of Foss for their NIR-equipment.
The exhibition being almost in their own back yard, Chinese feed equipment manufacturer Zhengchang was a clear presence.
Bayer with its newly established division for feed additives HealthCare was present to further introduce this specific division to the market. Bayer HealthCare will be active globally outside Europe.
The second major player in feed processing equipment Muyang also made an impressive presence with a large stand.
It has been decided that the next Victam Asia in 2014 will take place once again in BITEC, Bangkok. From what was seen here the Asian show is slowly catching up with the European show, and if markets continue developing, Victam Asia will eventually surpass its European sister.
