As one of the last bastions of the UK's agricultural research, Reading University's School of Agriculture, Policy and Development has had to move with the times, but it remains a thriving research community. Sarah Mellor visited professor Ian Givens' animal science research group and met research fellow Dr Fergus Mould, who explained how commercial, fundamental and developmental research are integrated.
