Avoiding a
drastic decrease in feed and water intake after weaning is believed to
ameliorate the post-weaning lag period of piglets. Use of fermented liquid feed
is a possible feed strategy to keep weaners on feed and to reduce pathogenic
bacteria in absence of antibiotics.
