Clostridium perfringens - a nutritional challenge?

Clostridia are everywhere and different clostridial species are responsible for a number of diseases in poultry. Clostridium perfringens, in particular, is responsible for Necrotic Enteritis. The spores are resistant to high temperatures and chemical treatments, so contaminated feed is a particular problem. So what can we do to prevent it?
