Vietnam – Asia's top importer of oilseed products

Vietnam is a major importer of soybean meal (about 900,000 tonnes) and vegetable oil (roughly 300,000t). Although 2004 imports may dip due to livestock production problems, Vietnam is currently one of the largest Asian importers of oilseed products.
