As ethanol plants continue to suck up corn across the
continent, many livestock producers many need to turn to Dried Distillers Grains
(DDGS) to lower feed costs.
Pierce says moisture levels of DDGS will be different from plant to plant. Even if you are getting it from the same plant all the time, you should have a sample taken regularly to ensure you are feeding proper diets, he adds.
Pierce also notes that although some say that DDGS is not suitable to use in pig and poultry diets, it just comes back to knowing whats in thet product and formulating a diet around it.
