Biomin is to open a new state-of-the-art premix facility in Binh Duong, Vietnam. This will be the company’s second facility in Vietnam and is expected to facilitate a five-fold increase in total capacity, allowing exports to other countries in the region including Cambodia and Myanmar.

Construction on the plant started officially on 12 May 2012. And was prompted by the strong growth in the demand for premixes. And with the company’s existing plant in Hanoi was running at full capacity, there was a need for a second premix facility

The new 4.7 ha plant is fitted with a micro dosing system and houses a laboratory with several cutting-edge technologies, including a liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) system. According to Jan Vanbrabant, CEO Asia Pacific, the system will support the Biomin Mycotoxin Survey Program.

It also contains several “green” features, in line with the NutriEconomics concept of Biomin—achieving sustainable yet profitable farming in animal nutrition. The walls are built of autoclaved aerated concrete blocks to conserve energy, and solar panels are also fitted to produce energy for the plant.

The grand opening for the new premix plant is scheduled for October 2nd, 2013. Over 250 VIPs, customers and government officers are expected. The opening speech will be delivered by Erich Erber, Founder, Biomin, and by Mr Le Thanh Cung, President, Binh Duong People’s Committee.
