Jamaican Minster wants farmer subsidies
Agriculture Minister Roger Clarke from Jamaica will meet with Finance Minister Omar Davies to work out a subsidy on fertiliser and animal feed. High prices are affecting more than 30,000 small farmers in Trelawny, located on the northwest section of Jamaica.
“I know that high prices for fertiliser and animal feed are a pressure for
most farmers. I will be making some approaches to the minister of finance and
our people in the ministry to see what we can do to minimise the effects,”
