After having received approval by EFSA for safety and efficiency in April 2010, Actisaf Sc 47 is now authorised for use in rearing calves.

Lesaffre Feed Additives announced that during the last Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health vote of the European Commission, Actisaf Sc 47 (Saccharomyces cerevisiae NCYC Sc 47) received full approval in rearing calves as zootechnical additive and gut flora stabiliser under the number EC 4b1702.

This new authorisation is the twelfth in the Actisaf Sc 47 family. This new authorisation positions Actisaf Sc 47 uniquely as the only yeast with permanent authorisation in 7 ruminant categories.

This new authorization is specific to calves for rearing, from birth until 4 months. The minimum dose is 1.5 x 109 CFU/kg of complete feed or milk replacer.

  • Improving transition from liquid to solid feed
