VIV Russia to open its doors soon to international animal feed industry

VIV Russia focuses on the latest developments in the international feed to meat market, offering a platform for the international agribusiness to meet, greet and maintain contacts.

The show is being organised for the fifth time and it is the biggest in size and numbers of exhibitors so far. The organisers VNU Exhibitions Europe and Asti Group, expect to welcome 340 exhibitors from more than 30 countries, covering a surface of 9,400 m² net; this is 900 m² more than during the previous edition in 2009.

Official presentations will be present from countries such as China, Italy and France. China is represented with nine companies, Italy with 11 companies and France with 15 up to 18 companies. There is a special presentation with Spanish exhibitors as well.

The show, held in halls 7 and 8 of the show, has a number of different events planned.

Feedtech-Croptech
Feedtech-Croptech is a special pavillion including global players specialising in milling, processing, storage and handling of raw materials for the feed, food and fuel sectors.

The pavillion will be presented for the first time after the recent successes of this theme at various VIV trade shows worldwide.

Agribusiness forum
Another keynote event is organised by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture in cooperation with the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation of the Netherlands:  the agricultural seminar ‘Russian-Dutch Agribusiness Forum on Dairy and Poultry’.

The forum will take place in the Conference Hall of the exhibition venue. High ranking international speakers at this seminar will extensively examine in what way success factors of the poultry and the dairy sector in the Netherlands may contribute to further development of these particular areas in Russia.

The key to the Dutch success appears to be the cooperation of various stakeholders within these chains. The seminar will in particular focus on the importance of innovation, and on investing in knowledge and skills development.

Mr Korolev and Mr Hoogeveen, two co-chairmen of the Russian-Dutch Agricultural Working Group, will preside the seminar. Korolev is the Russian vice-minister of agriculture and Hoogeveen is director general of the ministry of economic affairs, agriculture and innovation in the Netherlands.

Meat & Poultry Congress 2011
On May 17, the first day of VIV Russia, the Canada Pork International will organise its summit in the shape of a high level conference event for the pig related visitors to the exhibition. This event is especially interesting for industry stake holders and policy makers. High-ranking speakers will focus on new opportunities for the development of meat production and trade.

The conference will be opened by the first deputy pime minister of Russia V.A. Zubkov.

Eastern Europe
Eastern Europe is a growth market for the world-wide ‘feed to meat’ industry. The Russian government is investing heavily in agricultural development programmes. Many of these schemes focus on the feed and meat supply chain, and the pig and poultry sectors are high on the list of priorities.
