AWB wheat export share down to twenty percent

AWB's share of the Australian wheat export market has fallen from 75% to 20% since the market was opened up to competition.

Overseas traders have grabbed 24% of the market, with Cargills getting 11%. AWB chief executive Gordon Davis says the company is keen to be involved in a major consolidation. ABB Grain rejected a merger deal after terms could not be agreed.
