Central silage for 11 Dutch dairy farms

Dairy Global and Boerderij Magazine were present at the first time the bunks of an cooperatively owned central silage were filled by 11 Dutch dairy farmers. They decided to start a cooperation with one central silage for their grass and maize as well as other feed ingredients. The farmers produce grass for the silage and buy as a cooperative feed concentrates to be mixed in a TMR. Mixing and feed out will start from the central location with cooperatively owned/rented equipment and reach out to the farmers living within 15 kilometres of the central silage.
