Perstorp back on capacity after explosion
Specialty Chemicals Company Perstorp is now back on
full capacity production of its calcium formate Prosid CF30.
It was the dust explosion in the Group's production plant
in Bruchhausen, Germany, beginning September 2006 that affected the calcium
formate production.
Calcium formate is one of the soluble salts of formic
acid. Prosid is a family of feed preservatives that prevent harmful
microbial activity in feed and maintain high feed quality during
storage.
Some are ideally suited for killing pathogenic bacteria, like
salmonella and campylobacter. Others add energy to feed or act as a source of
highly digestible calcium.
Thanks to strong efforts from Perstorp employees the plant is
now running on full speed.
