Toepfer: 07/08 EU grain output 2.2% less
In a monthly report by Hamburg-based grain trading house Toepfer
International, the 2007-08 European Union grain output is forecasted at 253.4
million metric tons. This is 2.2% less than last season.
Toepfer forecasts EU soft wheat output at 113.3
million tons, down 2.7% from last year's crop. Durum production was estimated at
7.5 million tons, down 7.5% from 2006-07.Corn
corn production was estimated by Toepfer at 44.8 million tons, down 12% from
