Addcon takes over Formi distribution
The Addcon Group, manufacturer of silage products and preservatives as well
as feed additives, is delighted to announce that the company has taken over
distribution of the feed supplement "Formi" from BASF effective from the
beginning of this year.
Addcon has been manufacturing Formi since 2002 at its own production site at
Porsgrunn, Norway, under contract for BASF AG. Addcon has now also taken over
the product's worldwide distribution. The raw material, formic acid, will
continue to be supplied by BASF.
About Formi
The brand name "Formi"
represents a growth-promoting acid supplement whose
properties are based on potassium diformate. Formi was approved in the European
Union in 2001 as the first non-antibiotic animal nutrition product with
growth-promoting properties. Formi is thus an approved and established
alternative to feed antibiotics, ensuring safe, efficient pig farming. The
product is also applied in aquaculture.
