5% more agribulk in port Amsterdam in 2008

The total transhipment of agribulk in the port of Amsterdam has increased with 8.2% in 2008 (from 87.8 to 94.8 million tonnes). Agribulk increased with 5% to 8.7 million tonnes. Oilseeds increased to 2.4 million tonnes (up 138%).

If this trend will continue in 2009 is not sure yet. The credit crunch will definitely has its effect on the total amount of goods that come into ports. However, because of recent investments and the wide range of products that enter the Dutch ports, it is expected that the port of Amsterdam will continue to do well.
