EU grain reserves grow to 60 million tonnes

It is expected that the EU has a reserve of 60 million tonnes of grains at the end of this season. This is 12 million tonnes more than last season. The intervention stock will be 3.3 million tonnes.

In 2008/2009, the EU has harvested 310 million tonnes grain. The use of grain in the EU is estimated at 274 million tonnes. 20 million tonnes have been exported so far. If the export remains at this pace, the total export at the end of the season will reach 32 million tonnes. Total import is almost 12 million tonnes.
