Feed matters: Aviagen seminars, Slovakia & Czech

02-04-2009 | |

Over 150 Aviagen customers and suppliers came together in Slovakia and the Czech Republic last week for 2 separate seminars held by Aviagen.

The seminars were aimed at broiler farmers, nutritionists and feed manufacturers and offered practical management advice on how to maximise the performance of their Ross products.

The highlight of the event was a presentation from the nutrition team on the importance of the correct nutrient levels, raw materials and physical feed quality. Delegates were then invited to take part in a practical feed sieving workshop, which demonstrated the variability of physical feed quality and its importance in product performance.

An update was also given on the importance of brooding management to help maximise the genetic potential of the Ross stock in product performance. Last but not least, the seminars looked at wider issues within the industry, including the upcoming European Broiler Directive, and offered practical advice and support for farmers who may be concerned about this legislation and how it will affect their business.
