DSM profits hit hard by recession

04-08-2009 | |

Dutch chemicals company DSM’s quarterly profits are down to €10 million from €200 million in the same period last year.

The company is suffering from the global economic recession. However, their results improved slightly compared to the first quarter. DSM said prospects remain uncertain as demand is still weak.

Analysts will look through the DSM’s quarterly figures next Tuesday, paying particular attention to those of the company’s Nutrition division. Nutrition has proved to be their stable profitable factor so far in the crisis and must continue to show stability, analysts agree.
