15-10-2010 | |

Royal DSM N.V., the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company headquartered in the Netherlands, announces management changes.

Mr. Paul Jarrell, Executive Vice President Corporate Human Resources (CHR), will – after careful consideration – relinquish his position with effect from 1 November 2010 for personal reasons.

Mr. Chris Van Steenbergen, until recently Chief Human Resources Officer at Cadbury PLC (London, United Kingdom), will succeed Paul as Executive Vice President CHR as from that date. He will report to Mr. Feike Sijbesma, CEO and Chairman of the Managing Board of DSM.

Chris, a Belgian national, joined Cadbury (recently acquired by Kraft Foods) in 1988 and held several legal and general management positions until he left Cadbury in 1998 to become CEO of Quick restaurants, Belgium. He rejoined Cadbury in 2002, served as HR Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa from 2005 to 2007 and became President of the European region in 2008. As a member of the Cadbury Executive Committee, Chris contributed to the overall direction and strategy of the business.

With his track record of shaping and executing business and people agendas, Chris is ideally positioned to lead the HR efforts needed to address the ambitious growth strategy that DSM has recently announced. (DSM in motion: driving focused growth).
