Sheep coop Covisurle invests €750,000 for expansion

The cooperative sheep farmers Covisurle in Valencia de Don Juan is to expand its storages through an investment of €750,000 from.

The new building, now in its first phase of construction, will be devoted to storage of raw materials and the manufacture of feed specially prepared for the needs of Covisurle members sheep farmers with holdings in the Southern Leon area.
 
In addition to the metal structure the new building will house cutting-edge equipment to improve the feed production process from raw materials specially selected for the livestock of its members.
 
12 million litres per year
Covisurle is owned by its 90 farmers. They supply about 12 million litres of sheep milk per year, which is processed by the coop. It is a supplier of several dairies located in different Spanish regions.
 
With the new facility is expected to improve competitiveness in the difficult market of milk production sector and a greater benefit to the cooperative.
