New HACCP guide completes portfolio

05-02-2010 | |

The latest Guideline (HACCP in produce and feed: a practical guide – Guideline 64) in Campden BRI’s HACCP portfolio provides much-needed guidance for fresh produce and animal feeds.

Fresh produce and animal feeds are important components of the food supply chain.

A HACCP-based approach to food safety management can be applied throughout the food chain, from farm to fork, and is widely recognised as an effective and logical means for food safety control that is readily applicable to both produce and feed systems.

Chris Knight, author of the document, explains: "After a general introduction and overview of the development of HACCP systems for produce and feed systems, this guideline, which completes Campden BRI’s portfolio of HACCP guides, specifically provides examples of hazards in the two systems, and HACCP exercises for […] blended and processed animal feeds.

“It provides more evidence of how the whole of the food supply chain is now adopting HACCP-based approaches to safety management, and complements the wide range of HACCP services that we offer."
