ABB acquires Jokab Safety
Power and automation technology company ABB has acquired Jokab Safety, which will now be part of ABB's Low Voltage Products division.
ABB's acquisition of Jokab Safety is perfectly in line with Jokab Safety's global vision of being "the best partner for machine safety - globally and locally".
"This gives us marketing channels and technical experts around the world which will be able to offer machine safety customers global and local service.
“In addition our offer is made broader through ABB's range of products. It also means we will be able to put even more resources on continued development of innovative products and solutions for machine safety" says the owners of Jokab Safety - Mats Linger, Torgny Olsson, Brian Sukarukoff and Scott Campbell - who will continue to run the company.
"This investment is fully in line with our strategy to broaden our offering through value-creating acquisitions," says Tom Sjökvist, head of ABB's Low Voltage Products division, under which Jokab Safety will reside.
"Through this acquisition both ABB and Jokab Safety will strengthen their total offering. Together we can meet customers' increasing requirements for low-voltage products and machine safety in a better way."
