Nuter Feed opens new plant in Extremadura, Spain

Nuter Feedhas officially opened its first plant in Extremadura, Spain. With its introduction in Llerena (Badajoz), Nuter intends to develop and consolidate its presence in the livestock market in southwestern Spain, consisting of Extremadura and Western Andalusia.

The plant in Llerena, which has modern facilities, was opened by the President of the Junta de Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, who supports the expansion of Nuter Feed in the community of Extremadura.
 
Javier Lahoz, CEO of Nuter, said the company is investing in its plant in Llerena more than 1 million euros to expand production capacity of the plant – up to 7,500 tm / month.
 
Also investments are made to provide better service to the livestock market in Extremadura and Andalusia, communities in which activities related to the agricultural sector are very important.
 
Nuter’s intention, with the launch of this plant in Llerena, is to satisfy market needs Extremadura and Andalusia and creating new points of distribution through its brands Pasaranda and Biona.
 
More than 1 million tonnes of feed per year
With the opening of the plant in Llerena, Nuter now operates 12 plants in the Iberian Peninsula. Together they combined production capacity of over 1 million tonnes of feed per year and generate 500 direct jobs and 2,700 indirect jobs.
 
The group’s annual turnover exceeds 265 million at present, and the company is the largest domestic manufacturer of feed within private market with 15% market share. It is also the second company for pet foods in Spain.
 
Nuter’s network comprises of over 1,500 exclusive distributors and an estimated 40,000 farms in Spain and Portugal that regularly order its feed.
 
Nuter Feed was created in 2007 through a merger of Pascual de Aranda SA and Saprogal SA, with both having more than 45 years of experience in animal feed.
