Fire destroys animal feed storage in Kehl, Germany

A fire at a warehouse in the port of Kehl has caused millions of euros in damages. The flames destroyed and damaged the hall in which animal feed was stored.

The fire was discovered in the night of Wednesday 18 April around 3.20AM in a 12,000 m2 building at the harbour road in Kehl at the Rhine river on German ground (opposite Strasbourg in France).
 
The fire destroyed most of two floors of a multi-storey building. The flames were extinguished around 6:30AM and no one was injured.
 
The building stored animal feed and according to the police damages of the burned feeds alone amounted to over a million euros.
 
Also the structure of the building was damaged and a ceiling of the hall is in danger of collapsing.
 
Police forensics are working at the fire scene to determine the cause of the fire, which so far is unclear.
