Addiseo confirms project at new Chinese plant

Adisseo confirms the start-up of its Chinese methionine unit in Nanjing according to plan, which mirrors its sister plant in Spain. The project has been a major industrial challenge, with more than 25 different chemical units filling a surface equivalent to 30 football fields.

The common project between Adisseo and its shareholder BlueStar is a success: mechanical completion was reached in Q1 2013. Chinese authorities have delivered all permits including the Free Sales certificates last August.  All units of the entire chemical complex (from elementary sulphur to liquid methionine) are now operative to ensure full reliability and optimised health, safety & environmental conditions.

The entire process is now fully operational and delivers Rhodimet® AT88 on specification with the same quality standard as the plant in Burgos, Spain. Sales of Rhodimet AT88 manufactured in China began after last September. In 2014 most of the production will be reserved for the domestic market.

In the following months and years, teams will continue to optimise all parameters to extract the full value of this large industrial investment. With market growth, there will be time when further streamlining and investments will be needed in order to follow the growth of customers.

In order to assist customers in the conversion of their facilities, Adisseo has developed the Serenity DIMension program to ensure that all Rhodimet AT88 benefits are delivered at the feed mill. Combined with the nutritional optimisation that can be achieved through the monitoring of actual amino acid levels and the energy values of feedstuffs with the award winning Precise Nutrition Evaluation (PNE) programme and the recommendations of the recently released Rhodimet Nutrition Guide.
