Evonik starts marketing probiotic in India and Bangladesh
Feed additive producer Evonik will now offer the probiotic GutCare® PY1 in India and Bangladesh following the launches in the US and China earlier this year. The probiotic contains the spores of the strain Bacillus subtilis DSM 32315 and has a positive effect on the healthy balance of bacteria populations in the chicken gut which has been scientifically proven by numerous studies (in vitro and in vivo). By the end of 2018, the company wants to be present in every Asian country with at least one probiotic.
Angel Yeast organises young animal nutrition event
On 13 and 14 July, the “5th Young Animal Nutrition and Health Application Technology Seminar” took place in Yichang, located in the Hubei province, China. The seminar was hosted by the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Angel Yeast and Boyar.cn. Topics that were discussed in this seminar included: nutrition regulation technology in both female and young animals, protein resource for aquaculture and non-antibiotic solutions for animal production.
ADM Animal Nutrition expands portfolio for beef
ADM Animal Nutrition extended its product portfolio Gro Fast for dairy beef. Gro Fast is a comprehensive feeding programme designed to help make the most of dairy beef’s genetic potential from birth to market. New additions to the product portfolio include: Gro Fast 36 Concentrate for calves up to 400 pounds, and Gro Fast 46/16 and Gro Fast 38/13 supplements for use from post-weaning to finishing weight. Gro Fast 38% Concentrate is also available for producers who desire an all-natural protein supplement. All the products contain high-quality protein sources, and bioavailable vitamins and minerals that support rumen function
BASF launches new vitamin A formulations
BASF Animal Nutrition globally launches Lutavit® A NXT, a new vitamin A product line in which ethoxyquin (EQ) is replaced by butylhydroxytoluene (BHT) as stabiliser. Lutavit® A NXT delivers long shelf-life, superior bioavailability and outstanding stability in premix and feed. These vitamin A formulations already now meet the latest Regulation (EC) No 2017/962, which requires to successively withdraw EQ as a feed additive.
US grants to study applications and quality of rendered products
The Fats and Proteins Research Foundation in the US has approved over US$250,000 for 7 new research projects at the Clemson University Animal Co-Products Research and Education Center (ACREC), a collaboration between Clemson University and the Foundation. The newly funded projects are mainly focused on increasing environmental sustainability and increasing quality of the rendered products. One of the research topics include the biotransformation of meat and bone meal into high-value astaxanthin for animal feed
Nutriad launches trace minerals in the US
Feed additive producer Nutriad recently launched its NutriTrace® minerals, a new line of organic minerals. The company did the introduction at the World Pork Expo (WPE) in Des Moines, US. The WPE also offered Nutriad the opportunity to present and discuss its recently concluded safety studies in support of the precision delivery coated sodium butyrate, Ultramix C®. “The safety studies were done in several renowned institutes in North America and Europe.
