Russia to double grain export by 2012

Russia plans to double the export of grain during the next 5 years as a result of realization of the state program of development of agro-industrial complex.

In 2008 the export is expected to total 9 mln tonnes,
in 2009 – the rise to 13 mln tonnes, in 2010 – to 14 mln tonnes and in 2011 – to
15 mln tonnes. The same volume is forecasted for 2012.

It is expected
that as a result of realization of the program the annual growth of agricultural
production would total about 4%, including livestock 5%. So, by 2012 the
agricultural production growth would be 24.1% as compared to 2006.
